Russian Made Aviator Watches
Distinctive, Bold, Rugged
In 2002, Volmax
registered the trademark name of Aviator and is
now considered the leading watchmaker in Russia. Of their many
models, the Aviator 45mm Pilot inspired series stands out as
one of the most popular.
These are large, attention-grabbing watches with modern
styling. Yet, their heritage stems from watches used in the
Russian Military back in the 1940's and 50's. The 12-hour
models all feature the extremely rugged, and time tested
seventeen jewel Russian 3105 mechanical (hand wind) movement.
Rated at 42 hours run time on a full wind, we have found this
to be quite conservative. Some have run over 60
hours!
Originally, this line consisted
of just a couple of models. Due to its popularity it now has
grown to over eleven models. Black PVD case designs have been
added with new dials, a day/night indicator, and some new
colors for hands and markers. The classic models are now also
available on a stainless steel bracelet with a deployant
clasp.
Reading the time on all of the
models is very easy with the large hands and bold numbers. The
models that have SuperLuminova treated hands and numbers will
glow brightly in the dark and low light conditions. |
