Brief History of

Watches
The Citizen company was founded
in 1924 and was so named so it would be "Close to the Hearts of
People Everywhere." During the last several decades, Citizen has
expanded its business throughout the world. In the last 25
years, Citizen has grown to become the world's largest
watchmaker, a distinction it has achieved every year since 1986.
Citizen is also recognized as
leader in advanced technology. Citizen's "world firsts" is
unmatched for innovations such as the first dive watch with and
electronic depth sensor, the first voice recognition watch to
the slimmest LCD.
Recently, Citizen has become
the leader in Ecologically Friendly timekeeping with its
