Black PVD plating on watches has
become extremely popular due to its use by Special Ops, Navy
Seals, Police Swat teams, etc. It has even grown popular now for
use on dive watches like this new self-winding Seiko 5 model
SNZD73.
The all black look on the new
Seiko is carried through to the dial as well. Only the numbers,
hands and markers are in contrasting white. Even the crown is
stealthy black and tucked out of harms way by the 4:00 position
on the case.
The hands and markers on the dial
are treated with Seiko's awesome LumiBrite material for strong
visibility in the dark. Nothing else quite glows like a Seiko
lumed watch when charged with a strong light or daylight
for 30 seconds or more.
