Orient Chicane Automatic Watch with White Dial, Stainless Steel Case #ER1X001W

Orient Chicane Automatic Watch with White Dial, Stainless Steel Case #ER1X001W

The Chicane is part of Orient's classics collection of watches. The watch features traditional styling and a graceful design. With its 39mm case, it is an ideal size for most wrist sizes. It is only 10mm thick which allows it to wear well with long sleeve shirts. The use of Arabic and bar indices paired with the dauphine hands make for a very legible watch. The Chicane has been finished off with an exhibition screw caseback, allowing the ORIENT in-house caliber 48743 movement to be easily enjoyed. The watch has a power reserve of 40 hours if it is fully wound. This model comes with a folded stainless steel bracelet with a dual push-button clasp. 20mm lug width.

Note: This watch winds with the motion of your wrist as you wear it. If the watch has wound down or stopped after not being worn for a few days, simply move the watch back and forth several times before putting it on.

    Great value

The Orient Chicane with the white dial is a great looking watch. The white face has a bit of sparkle or metallic look to it which doesn't come across in pictures. The bracelet is folded link, so not the best quality but as long as you realize what you're getting you won't be disappointed. Even for being folded link, it had a nice feel to it. This is a great watch, especially at the price offered here.

    Excellent value

I'm at 32 watches now with models from Casio Edifice, Citizen, Tissot, Bulova, Caravelle, Pulsar, Invicta, Seiko, Festina, Timex, Fossil, and now these three Orient pieces. I purchased all three red, white, and blue models of the Chicane so some of my review is basically general for all three. I received the watch in two days just as promised. I only just started to collect automatic watches and their accuracy is pretty much in line with what I expected. + or - a little under a minute per day depending on how much I pay attention to deliberately shaking my wrist. The quality is there without a doubt for such a relatively inexpensive timepiece. All three colors look great, but I find myself wearing the white one most. It just has a classic look to it, but I would recommend any or all of the three colors.

    Orient Watch

Posted by Joseph Coughlin on Sep 3rd 2014

The watch arrived as advertised in good condition. It is a good every day watch that can be also worn as a dress watch. It gains about a few seconds a day, but is no big deal. Adjusting the watch band was a little difficult but Long Island sent me a video which helped. Overall good service and a good watch for $79.

Typical Orient quality and one of the best values for an automatic watch you can find for the price. Excellent customer service from LI Watch too.

    What a deal!

I bought this Chicane because I didn't see how I could lose, at $79, no tax and free shipping. And I didn't. This is my third Orient from Marc and, price aside, maybe the best. Scary accuracy--at -1 second/day. And this is something I've never understood: I've read that Orient drives are based on Seiko drives from the 70's. Well, if so, how come they're much more accurate than Seikos? (Seiko owns Orient). I guess the folks at Orient spend more time regulating the movements. All three of my Orients are more accurate than my $600 Seiko SARB 035. So for 79 bucks I have a handsome watch that might as well be COSC certified in accuracy. I also like the fact that the shipping box came from "Marc," as opposed to "Long Island Watch." That way, if my wife sees the mail, she doesn't see that I've ordered another watch. She thinks I have enough watches. Women!
