Seiko 5 Sports Black Dial Diver with new 24-Jewel Automatic Movement #SRPA03

The Seiko 5 Sports SRPA03 is powered by the 24-jewel Seiko caliber 4R36 automatic (self-winding) movement that also hand winds and is hackable. The powerful Seiko LumiBrite luminescent material is used to fill the hour makers and hands for excellent glow-in-the-dark capability. Includes a uni-directional rotating black bezel with diver style markings.

Case size is 44mm (diameter) x 13mm (thick). Hardlex mineral crystal. Seiko stainless steel bracelet with a push-button deployant clasp. Screw-in exhibition window case back. Water resistant to 100 meters. Day and date window.

This is an initial impression of the watch. For the price, you get a hacking 4R36 movement with this watch, which at $155 makes it a good value. The bracelet is nice, functional and works, end links are stamped. The watch background is flat black with very prominent white indices giving it a good contrast. The lume does not take much to charge, one of the features I was looking for in a watch. Little big at 44MM, however, it will work for me. I like the round look of the watch, which the lack of a crown guard brings out in the watch. The bezel ring, is not too thick either, again adding to the overall look. It is only 100M water resistant, which is ok with me since I will not dive with this watch. Overall, the watch is legible, has great lume, simple attractive look, and a hacking movement. Also, Marc at LIW is very good to deal with, since I made several returns until I settled on this watch.
