Squale 200 meter Maxi Swiss Automatic Dive watch with Domed Sapphire Crystal #1545-MI

The Squale 1545 MI (Militaire) is a 200 meter diving watch that has a matte (non-shiny) off-black dial with a vintage color SuperLuminova GL treated hands and hour markers. Features include a domed sapphire crystal, a date window at 3:00, a uni-directional rotating black divers bezel with a pip (luminous dot) at the top, an large easy-grip, screw-down crown at 3:00, a 40mm diameter 316L stainless steel case, a screw-in case back, and a signed SEL stainless steel bracelet with diver extension. The watch is made in Switzerland and it is powered by a Swiss ETA 2824-2 automatic (self-winding) movement with a 42-hour power reserve. The watch comes in a nice display box, with papers and it is covered by a 2-year Squale international warranty.

I Recently took delivery of the Squale 1545-MI and i'm blown away by the quality. its the best finished and most refined watch I've owned to date. the only to be aware of if you are buying from the UK then you may be subject to HMRC charging you for customs so be wary of that for UK buyers. The service from Marc was top notch and he responded to my emails promptly despite the time difference. would buy from Island Watch again in a heartbeat.

Watch arrived well packaged, box and protection for watch all in good order. Every watch surface protected by plastic film in packaging. Easy to adjust band with right watch tools. Screw driver needed, for example. Very nice bracelet. Solid look. Heavier than my Omega SeaMaster II, and most everything I own. Well worth the investment.

After 20+ years, my quartz TAG dive watch needed more money to repair that it was worth new, so I decided to replace it with a Swiss automatic. This is my primary watch that I wear whenever I am not sleeping. I am a fish biologist, and spend a lot of time in rugged conditions, including underwater, so I wanted a serious, well-made watch that I can trust to work without babying. I love the retro milsub look, but I wanted a date function (no cyclops!). This watch fit the bill perfectly, and I am 100% thrilled with it. It looks terrific, both in good clothes and in the field, and seems to be solid and well made. The watch itself is substantial without being chunky, the bezel is smooth, the bracelet is robust. I don't use a winder at night, but accuracy seems good. The whole package feels good, and feels like it should cost far more than it does. I'm also extremely happy with Long Island Watch. I placed the order on Saturday, and had the watch in hand by Wednesday, free shipping.

Fast shipping from Marc and the piece is overall an excellent value for dive watch with an ETA-2824. Not too big, stylish appearance, great crown action, and so far time keeping has been less than +5 seconds per day. Lume is not Seiko quality but good enough for my needs. Worth every penny.
