Description Technical Specs

Damasko Swiss ETA Automatic with a Rotating 60-Minute Bezel and Stainless Steel Case #DA43

The DA43 has the classic Damasko aviator style dial, but also includes a rotating 60-minute timing bezel. The case size is 40mm, but the bezel brings it to just a tick under 42mm. The case is made from ice-hardened stainless steel with a bead-blasted surface, making it more resistant to scratches. There is also an integrated anti-magnetic inner cage to guard against the movement becoming magnetized.

The knurled screw-down crown and mechanism is fully hardened and along with a screw-in case back, provides you with a 100-meter water resistance rating. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides gives you increased clarity when viewing the white dial with black hands and markers. The dial is also treated with long lasting CL1 SuperLuminova for reading the time in low light conditions. The seconds hand is painted a safety orange color. The day and date window is found at a special position slightly below the center axis. The DA43 includes black strap with orange stitching.

5 of 5 Damasko DA43-60 minute bezel March 30, 2020

The quality of the watch, itself, is obvious.  This Damasko is an example of the kind of restrained beauty that only the Germans seem to understand.  The watch is accurate, losing slightly fewer than three (3) seconds per day.  Unfortunately, I had to immediately replace the included Hirsch Robbie strap.  I cannot tolerate "trendy" orange accents on a strap intended for a serious tool watch.  (What were these same German designers thinking when it came to choosing a strap?)  My new, after market, solid black Barton Silicone Elite band is perfect.  It is regrettable that I had to replace a $100 strap - which I was forced to pay for - with a $20 aftermarket strap in order to be content.  But, I suspected I would probably have to do this even before I ordered the watch.  Make no mistake, I am happy with the entire purchase.  I feel Marc treated me right.  And, as a fellow retired aerospace engineer, I appreciate his expertise and all he does for the wristwatch community.  Nicely done.
