Formex Essence Leggera Swiss Automatic Chronometer Space Rock Limited Edition #0330-9-6399-833

Formex Essence Leggera Swiss Automatic Chronometer Space Rock Limited Edition #0330-9-6399-833

There are over 4 billion years of history on your wrist with this dial made of an extraterrestrial rock called Muonionalusta. This meteorite blasted into the Earth atmosphere some four ice ages ago into an area north of the Arctic circle. To make the dial, special machining and treatment is required to reveal the distinctive characteristic of this iron meteorite. The beautiful equilateral triangles that create the Widmanstätten pattern is a result of very slow cooling over millions of years, whereas the crystalline structure of the minerals within the core of the asteroid changes. Since the textures are organic and cannot be artificially reproduced, each single dial is a completely unique piece.

This watch is a limited edition of just 50 pieces. The precious dial is encapsulated in an ultra-light (50g, 1.76oz) Carbon Fiber Composite case, entirely developed in-house. Bezel and crown are made of scratch-proof Zirconium Oxide ceramic. The watch is powered by a highly precise COSC-certified Swiss Automatic movement and comes with the same tested and proven patented features as the popular Essence lineup, such as the Case Suspension System and a folding clasp made of carbon fiber, with a unique fine-adjustment system that perfectly adapts to the wrist’s ever changing size due to heat and humidity.

Robust. The deep black color is achieved through material choice rather than surface coating like DLC or PVD, which ensures that your watch will always stay black. With a hardness that surpasses that of any traditional metal used in watchmaking, Zirconium Oxide ceramic is a scratch-proof material that will never show any signs of wear or aging. Being the most exposed components of a watch case, both bezel and crown are made of this high-tech ceramic.

Luxurious.
Hand-finished with undiluted passion, the Essence is crafted with an execution only found in high-end timepieces. The movement's accuracy has been tested and certified by COSC, the official Swiss Testing Institute for Swiss Chronometer.

Comfortable.
The patented Case Suspension System and carbon fiber composite clasp with patented Fine Adjustment System adapt to your wrist movements and daily adventures.

Bold.
Above a complex construction lies an elaborate case with a feather-light Carbon Composite case with titanium container, which was entirely developed in-house. The dial is made of an iron meteorite, revealing its characteristic pattern of equilateral triangles.

Case Suspension. Since the beginning of Formex in 1999, the patented Case Suspension System has been an integral part of every single Formex timepiece. It absorbs shocks to protect the mechanical movement from heavy impacts and it adds to the comfort on the wrist by adapting to the wearer’s movements. Modeled with high-performance bikes and racing cars in mind, the Formex patented case suspension system works by integrating four springs between the upper and lower watch case. The result is the ultimate shock absorption system designed to protect the mechanical movement and deliver unparalleled comfort to the wearer. This patented case suspension system brings form and function together for Formex Swiss watches. It’s functional, it’s state of the art engineering and it is unquestionably unique.

Carbon Clasp.
The strap comes with a new version of the Essence clasp. Easier to operate, the new version is fully made out of proprietary carbon fiber composite. The micro-adjustment is now even easier to use and can be operated while the watch is on your wrist. Lightweight, smooth to the touch, ultra-durable and highly functional, this clasp is a real piece of engineering, making your Essence even more comfortable to wear.

Movement. Swiss Made STP1-11 (self-winding) Automatic (Chronometer grade), officially certified by COSC. 26 jewels. Date display. Custom-built skeleton rotor with thermally blued screws. 44 hours power reserve.

Strap. Nylon weave strap with curved spring bars, Quick Release function and carbon fiber composite folding clasp with patented Micro-Adjustment System.
