I have been eyeing this watch for some time now. I must say, I thoroughly enjoy Apocalypse Now and seeing Martin Sheen wear a Seiko 6150, it made me want one. But after researching the price tag on a used one and seeing the price tag on a re-issue, I thought to myself, I’ll just wait. Then I see the Islander 12 and it had all the upgrade features that I like and wanted and an exceptional price, best part it looked just like the 6150! I waited until Black Friday to purchase this amazing watch at an amazing price. Such fast shipping and I was simply in awe! Pros: -Long Battery Life (with just normal wear) -Only about +2-3secs after a 2 day wear -Easy band replacement -Hack capability Cons: -Very easy to turn the bezel. Will turn if I bump into something -Lume is’tt that bright for long use (goes to a typical Seiko brightness very quick. This isn’t a tritium insert like Luminox) -Discontinued from LIW Great product/fantastic company! Keep up the good work Mark!

I love this watch. I have been looking at a turtle for a long time. Once I saw this watch and what you get for the price. There was no question, I ordered the watch! The only very small thing I notices was. The bezel slips at the 9 position. This doesn't really bother me but, had to mention it. You will not regret buying this watch.

I had to mod my original Turtle to get close to what this watch offers as stock items. Double domed sapphire crystal with AR coating, lumed ceramic bezel and the lume is actually better than my Seiko. Automatic movement with hand winding and hacking. Just a fantastic value

On the ISL-12 watch the rotating bezel does not precisely align with the indicators. It is just a little bit off, less than one click, and I am not sure if this is enough of a flaw to justify sending the watch back. This flaw is barely noticeable.

I spent the past few weeks thoroughly researching dive watches to replace one that was damaged beyond repair. Marc's videos were a great help and led me to the Islander brand. When I saw this one, I couldn't resist. The sandblasted finish gives it the look of the Air Force issue Tudor dive watch that served me through six Vietnam combat tours and on thorough Desert Storm where it was lost in action when I was injured. Fit, finish and accuracy is outstanding. The bezel seems a little too easy to turn but it's not a problem since I'm unable to dive anymore. Love the watch and the service was outstanding. I also bought the sandblasted Islander bracelet but the strap is perfect so I'll just keep the bracelet as a backup. I wish I could give it and the company more than 5 stars. Thank you!!

I have waited six months to write a review. I wanted to make sure this thing performed. I am happy to report that it has exceeded my expectations. It works and looks great. I am a regular dual time zone user, so for that purpose it is excellent. The lume is outstanding. I need to see it in low light conditions and the lume hasn’t failed me once. I find that mine has a tendency to gain about 8 seconds in a 24 hour period. I am a frequent hacker, so no sweat. I love the double dome AR crystal. I have no scratches and I am anything but gentle. I bought this to be a working watch and it is exactly that! It has been what I needed it to be. Thanks Long Island Watch!
