Islander Automatic Watch with Leather Strap and an AR Dome Sapphire Crystal #ISL-54

The new Islander ISL-54 brings back the style of popular watch that is no longer available. The cosmetic differences are subtle but noticeable. The case is a very wearable 40mm in diameter and it is 13mm thick. Lug to lug (or tip to tip) measurement is 47.5mm. The crown is a signed screw-down type that enables a better water resistance rating of 100-meters.

Inside the case is an NH35, 24-jewel automatic movement with 21,600 vibrations per hour. This self-winding movement supports hand winding and hacks (seconds hand stops when you pull out the crown). Power reserve is about 41 hours fully wound. The ISL-54 was designed without a date window.

The black dial has distinctive oversize hour makers like many WWII pilot watches. It is very easy to view the time at a glance.
The hour hand, minute hand, and dial markings are all treated with C3 SuperLuminova. The seconds hand is painted orange for higher visibility and the lume dot has been made part of the pointer. You will note that the dial has excellent visibility due to the use of an anti-reflective dome sapphire crystal that also guards against scratches.

This model comes with a black leather strap with matching stitching and a signed stainless steel buckle. You can change up the look with a military-style nylon strap and any of our leather straps. The lug width is 20mm. 120mm x 75mm strap size.

5 of 5 Superlative October 20, 2020
Reviewer: Deryl Clark from Abilene, TX United States
Dive watches are all the rage, I live in the desert I need a dive watch like a sailor needs a divining rod. I have some dive watches,  they are not really who I am and where I exist. Which is why they all are strapped to alligator or bovine.
I am not confined by your conventions of style.
I was content but not fulfilled, then like shooting star streaking across the high plains Marc introduced the  ISL-54 (dude it need a name not a number).  It seemed like the perfect answer to my quest for a statement watch. The thing is I wanted it on a bracelet, see the above statement about your opinion.
I sent and email to Marc. As God as my witness I received an answer in less than ten minutes.
Now I have an ISL-54  on a Strapcode Endmill. The watch/bracelet combination is amazing, the crystal is almost nonexistent, I am one happy plainsman.
Thank you Marc for your design expertise, and outstanding customer service.

5 of 5 A more original Islander -- great! October 14, 2020
Reviewer: Robert S. from Los Angeles, CA United States
I own a number of Islander dive watches, which I enjoy, but this watch is something different and more original.  I like it a lot.  The size and font of the Arabic indices at 12, 3, 6, and 9 are very nice.  I love the pop of color added by the orange second hand.  Very glad I purchased the no-date version, as the symmetry of this version is extremely pleasing.  Glad to see different offerings in different sizes.  40mm is nice for a dressy sport watch and I'd like to see something in 38mm for the category of watches as well.

I wish the leather strap were less generic -- that's my only complaint, but it's not a big one.  There are lots of great straps out there to spice up this watch with, and a neutral OEM strap makes sense from a commercial point of view.
