Marathon Alarm Clock with Black Dial, Silent Movement, and Auto-Sensing Night Light #CL030053BK

Marathon's new alarm clock is perfect for your bedside or for use in your kitchen or home office. It is compact enough to be a travel alarm also (just 3.5" wide by 3.75" tall). It has several unique features including a silent running smooth sweep hand that does not emit an audible "tick" when running. It also has an auto night light that comes on as the lights go off. The ring around the black dial glows making the clock easy to read in the dark. It can be turned on or off with a switch on the back.

Tap the snooze bar on the top of the clock and the light fully illuminates for 5 seconds and then shuts off. Next to the snooze bar is a red alarm set button. Push it when you want to use the alarm and it pops up making it easy to see that it is engaged. A single crown on the back of the watch sets the alarm and time.

The clock is well made with a high quality of fit and finish. The clock requires two AA batteries that are included in the box along with an operation manual.

We are actually using these clocks at home and we love the auto sensing night light feature. The alarm is a 12-hour alarm and must be set and/or turned on each night (i.e. it does not have multiple alarm capability like some digital models).

Marathon Silent Clock June 8, 2018

Very nicely made, smooth, with no annoying "click" from (all) quartz movements. Also impressed at the nite lite, which on battery powered clocks only comes one for 10 seconds. This clock has very sensitive photoeye and actually works!

I love this clock January 5, 2018
Reviewer: Michael Scully from Long Island
This is a great clock. I agree with Mr. Hudson that it is larger than your typical travel alarm clock, but the next time we travel, I'm packing this one, because the alarm tone on this one is far superior. It's pleasant to listen to, and there's something about it that says "Hey, it's time to wake up" that at the same time makes you want to say, "Cool, let's go!"

It feels good in the hand, and those grips on the bottom mean serious business. The light is easy on the eyes, and it's just a pleasure to hold this thing in your hand. If you leave the darkness sensor turned OFF, it only lights up in the dark when you press the button on top. Then, it lights up for just a couple of seconds -- long enough to see the time in the middle of the night, but not long enough to be annoying.

My only complaint would be that the light is located at 1 o'clock; I would prefer it at 7.

But ultimately, I don't care. This is an alarm clock that makes me want to get out of bed in the morning.

Excellent Larger Size Alarm July 2, 2016
Reviewer: Joseph Hudson from Western Springs, IL United States
This clock is larger than the average travel clock, and consequently, it is probably not the best choice for travel.  However, it is a great clock to move from room to room in your home as a time keeper and alarm clock.  The stable base (due to larger size), snooze function, and optional night light are all great features.
