Description Technical Specs

Marathon Swiss Made, GSAR Automatic Military Divers Watch with Sapphire Crystal #WW194006NGM

The Marathon Divers Automatic WW194006NGM is a dive watch built to ISO 6425 standards. The NGM in the model number = No Government Markings on the dial.

Designed for use by Search and Rescue (SAR) divers, and issued to the United States Marine Corps, the Divers Automatic is a watch built to withstand the most extreme of conditions The Diver's Automatic is also known as the Government Search and Rescue (GSAR).

The watch is water resistant down to 30 ATM - 300 meters (1000 feet) underwater. Built from 316L surgical grade stainless steel, the Divers Automatic is a high quality, purpose built watch that will reliably accompany you on any adventure you may embark on. The Divers Automatic uses a scratch resistant, anti reflective coated, sapphire glass crystal to ensure that the dial can be read even under direct sunlight, or deep underwater.

The Divers Automatic is made in La Chaux de Fonds Switzerland to guarantee the highest level of quality and accuracy in manufacturing. Inside the Divers Automatic is a Swiss made, 25 jewel ETA 2824-A2 automatic movement, the Divers Automatic guarantees you a reliable and accurate timekeeping experience. The Divers Automatic uses self contained Tritium gas tubes to ensure constant visibility in low light situations, a gas tube is placed on each hour marker and hands and uses MaraGlo for the 12 hour bezel marker. Tritium tubes are self illuminating gas tubes which contain an isotope of hydrogen, meaning they will not dull down in brightness like normal photoluminescent paint which requires a light source to create a glow.

The Marathon Divers Automatic combines Military toughness with Swiss craftsmanship in a watch that will get the job done, and look good doing it.

Don't wait, buy it! September 3, 2018

I was nervous about the case size but I like bigger watches and do use my dive watches for recreational SCUBA. I figured that if it was too big I'd keep it as dive only. Well that was silly! My wrist measures 6.875" and the GSAR is perfect! This watch is far superior to any other dive watch I have ever owned and it doesn't attract Rolex or Omega attention. Looks good on grey NATO strap and the rubber strap is extremely comfortable.

Quit waiting and buy a GSAR! You won't regret it.

Excellent EDC January 2, 2018

If you are a fan of military style watches then this is definitely a must have. The phrase 'built like a tank' gets thrown around a lot these days but this truly fits the description. When you hold it in your hand you can feel the quality and ruggedness.
The time keeping is phenomenal for the movement and is actually the best 2824 I own. Marathon probably does an exceptional job of regulating their watches because I've spoken with a few other owners who have confirmed similar or better time keeping. The legibility of the dial is exceptional and the tritium tubes make a superior lume to that of the traditional kind. The bezel is nice and clicky with very little play and a deliberate throw.
This is a high quality and purpose built tool which I believe will serve me and my offspring in the following decades.
As usual, Long Island Watch was a pleasure to do business with, and Marc is always available to answer questions with suspiciously fast responses to email.

Outstanding Watch and Purchase Experience December 17, 2017
Reviewer: Jeffrey Brown, Sr from El Paso, TX United States
Ordered my watch on 30 November and it was shipped on Friday (1 December). I received my package and unboxed my watch. It is absolutely magnificent! I'd been waiting for Long Island Watch to get in the NGM model of the GSAR and I'm glad I did. I've had my watch for 11 days now and I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase. This is my daily wear watch and it is keeping time perfectly. It's taking me a little time to get used to the weight but happen. Even more, I'm extremely satisfied with my pre-purchase customer support. Marc answered every question I had before I made my purchase. That really made me feel comfortable with my decision to purchase from them. I'd recommend Long Island Watch for your watch purchase.
