Description Technical Specs

Marathon Swiss Made, (Medium) GSAR Automatic Military Divers Watch with Sapphire Crystal #WW194026-WD

The Marathon Diver’s Automatic Medium is a dive watch built to ISO 6425 standards but is a smaller, medium sized, version of Marathon’s line of diver’s watches, perfect for someone who wants a tough, reliable, and military issue dive watch, yet prefers a reduced size watch that is just as tough as its larger brothers.

The Diver’s Automatic Medium is a dive watch certified for water resistance down to 30 ATM - 300 meters (1000 feet) underwater. The Diver’s Automatic Medium uses a scratch resistant sapphire glass crystal to ensure it maintains maximum legibility. Built from 316L surgical grade stainless steel, the Diver’s Automatic Medium is a tough watch that is comfortable for people with smaller wrists.

The Diver’s Automatic Medium includes a vulcanized rubber strap. When first worn, the strap will have no holes to put the buckle through and instead must be carefully pierced. This can be done to create a custom fit for superior comfort.

The Diver’s Automatic Medium is made in La Chaux de Fonds Switzerland to guarantee the highest level of quality and accuracy in manufacturing. Inside the Diver’s Automatic is a Swiss made, 26 jewel Sellita SW200 automatic movement, the Diver’s Automatic Medium guarantees you a reliable and accurate timekeeping experience. The Diver’s Automatic Medium uses self contained Tritium gas tubes to ensure constant visibility in low light situations, a gas tube is placed on each hour marker and hands and uses MaraGlo for the 12 hour bezel marker. Tritium tubes are self illuminating gas tubes which contain an isotope of hydrogen, meaning they will not dull down in brightness like normal photoluminescent paint which requires an external light source to create a glow.

The Diver’s Automatic Medium boasts the same toughness, water resistance, and movement as the larger Marathon diver’s watches in a compact package. To maintain proper tracking for maintenance, each Diver’s Automatic Medium comes individually numbered and engraved with a serial number.

5 of 5 Dress Up and Dress Down October 27, 2020

Seeing this watch out of the box may seem diminutive at first glance, however you will soon realize the advantages of its reduced dimensions. Its size is chunky and tough enough to serve as a rugged sports watch but also it's modest enough to wear with a suit and tie without seeming bulky and ostentatious. A great all rounder. My new favourite, I don't want to take it off.
The size is comparable to a Skin Diver from the 1960's, 1970's.

4 of 5 Very cool watch September 8, 2020

Overall a very cool midsize diver's watch. Unfortunately when I unboxed it i did notice a pretty good scratch on the left side of the case, but not too big of an issue overall as I could easily have it buffed if I wanted to in the future. So far time keeping is good, and although it is a thick watch, at 36mm it isn't overwhelming on the wrist. With that said, people with larger wrists should probably avoid this midsize model and go with the larger one, as it does wear a tad small.

5 of 5 Tough Watch & Perfect Size June 25, 2020

I am involved in a lot of outdoor activities and recently destroyed an Apple Watch - delicate little things.  I took a good look at what I really needed in a watch and realized I never used most of what the Apple offered.  This Marathon Diver is perfect for what I need in both function and form.  So far the watch seems like it will stand up to the abuse I expect from it.  It was losing about 10 seconds per day when I first got it but seems to have settled into about -3/day.  I like it!
