Description Technical Specs

Marathon Swiss Made, TSAR Quartz Military Divers Watch with Sapphire Crystal #WW194007NGM

The Marathon TSAR is for water resistant down to 30 ATM - 300 meters (1000 feet) underwater. Made from 316L surgical grade stainless steel, the TSAR is a purpose built watch that will not let you down no matter what adventure you may take it. The glass of the TSAR is in fact not glass, but a synthetic sapphire which will resist scratches, and is coated in an anti reflective coating to ensure maximum dial legibility.

The TSAR is handmade in La Chaux de Fonds Switzerland to guarantee the highest level of quality and accuracy in manufacturing. Inside the TSAR is a Swiss made, 3 jewel ETA F06 high torque quartz movement, the TSAR guarantees you a reliable and accurate timekeeping experience. The TSAR uses self contained Tritium gas tubes to ensure constant visibility in low light situations, a gas tube is placed on each hour marker and hands and uses MaraGlo for the 12 hour bezel marker. Tritium tubes are self illuminating gas tubes which contain an isotope of hydrogen, meaning they will not dull down in brightness like normal photoluminescent paint which requires an external light source to create a glow. The TSAR combines Military toughness with Swiss craftsmanship in a watch that will get the job done, and look good doing it.

The Curse of Quartz March 29, 2018
Reviewer: Rodney Kirchhofer
Purchased the Marathon TSAR and for the most part love this watch. Materials, build (for the most part), and style at this price point seem pretty good given my somewhat limited watch experience thus far and flavor of design. I would have loved to give it a glowing review, but the one thing that has detracted from my overall experience with this watch is the second hand not hitting the second markers exactly. Maybe I could forgive it more on a sub-$300 price point, but not at the one this watch comes in at. It seems the Curse of Quartz is alive and well at Marathon. Working with LIW was excellent and do look forward to bringing them more of my watch business.

Serious tool watch March 3, 2017

Photos don't do this watch justice - they make it seem bigger than it is, but at the same time don't show just how robust and solid it is.

This is a serious piece of machinery designed to work hard for a long time. Not flashy, but impressive to those who depend on their equipment and gear daily, no matter the environment.

Dependable and built to stand up to the hard knocks that are inevitable with backcountry and wilderness use.
