Marathon (Medium) Swiss Made, TSAR Quartz Military Divers Watch with Sapphire Crystal #WW194027

The Marathon Diver’s Quartz Medium is a dive watch built to ISO 6425 standards. The Diver’s Quartz Medium is a smaller, medium sized, version of Marathon’s line of diver’s watches. The Diver’s Quartz Medium is perfect for someone who wants a tough, reliable, and military issue dive watch, yet prefers a reduced size, yet a watch just as tough as its larger brothers.

The Diver’s Quartz Medium is a dive watch with water resistance down to 30 ATM - 300 meters (1000 feet) underwater. Built from 316L surgical grade stainless steel, the Diver’s Quartz Medium is a high quality, purpose built watch that will reliably accompany you on any adventure you may embark on. The Diver’s Quartz Medium comes with a scratch resistant, sapphire glass crystal.

The Diver’s Quartz Medium includes a vulcanized rubber strap. When first worn, the strap will have no holes to put the buckle through and instead must be carefully pierced. This can be done to create a custom fit for superior comfort. The Diver’s Quartz Medium is made in La Chaux de Fonds Switzerland to guarantee the highest level of quality and accuracy in manufacturing. Inside the Diver’s Quartz Medium is a Swiss made, high torque, 3 jewel ETA F06 Quartz movement, the ETA F06 movement is accurate to -0.3/+0.5 seconds per day and includes an End of Life (EOL) indicator that will advance the seconds hand once every 4 seconds to inform you that a battery change is needed. The Diver’s Quartz Medium uses self contained Tritium gas tubes to ensure constant visibility in low light situations, a Tritium gas tube is placed on each hour marker as well as the seconds and minute hands, MaraGlo is used for the 12 hour bezel marker. Tritium tubes are self illuminating gas tubes which contain an isotope of hydrogen, meaning they will not dull down in brightness like normal photoluminescent paint which requires an external light source to create a glow.

The Diver’s Quartz Medium proves that sometimes good things do come in smaller sizes, boasting the same toughness, water resistance, and movement as the larger Marathon diver’s watches, the Diver’s Quartz Medium is a compact package for those who want a lower key watch that still retains the toughness of a larger dive watch. To maintain proper tracking for maintenance, each Diver’s Quartz Medium comes individually numbered and engraved with a serial number.

5 of 5 Fantastic watch! October 22, 2019

This watch is simply perfect. I love the size and design. The Italian made rubber strap it's supplied on is also very good quality and comfortable. Seems tough as nails too but it remains a light watch. The 36mm size wears perfectly on my 6.25 inch wrist......Only problem now is I want more marathon watches!

4 of 5 Almost perfect as a tool. September 27, 2019
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Chesterfield, MO United States
If i could do it all over again i would actually get the GSAR because that one would fit my needs better.

I work in healthcare and basically wanted a heavy duty watch for various environments which include temperature changes, scuba diving (new hobby), and pressure changes due to altitude (i'm working on becoming a flight medic.)

That said, i rely on a finding the second hand quickly to do pulse checks. I thought the TSAR would be better because the second hand is more visible, but i didnt know it had luminous paint instead of tritium. I could "charge" the luminous paint with a light. But thats not always possible on the job for me. Another preference is that i find the quartz movement a mental challenge with counting pulse rates because i accidentally count the movement of the hand instead of the pulse rate.

Last but not least is that the watch is relatively heavy for everyday wear, but it is made of steel. Aside from these "flaws" it's a good and straightforward tool.

5 of 5 Great watch. Mostly pros, one small con. July 18, 2019
Reviewer: BH from OH United States
Hello all,
Just got my TSAR medium. Must keep my review shorter than normal, due to site constraints. The pros: tight, accurate on 12 bezel, tritium tubes are great. Fainter than superlume, but somehow more legible. Always works in the dark with no heat up. Sapphire crystal  300m WR, smooth screw down crown, with knurling, soft vulcanized rubber strap that's vanilla scented. Tough, well made, excellent watch.

The cons:only real con is the size. It said it was small, but no video shows exactly how small. It's tiny. I found that a 20oz pop bottle cap is the exact size of the crystal. I'm ok with smaller watches, but this pushed it, even for me. If you have a big wrist, or like bigger watches, go bigger. The 41 would probably be perfect, just couldn't afford it. Saving up. Still, great watch, great site and mark seems like a good guy. Will shop here again.
