Description Technical Specs

Marathon (Medium) Swiss Made, TSAR Quartz Military Divers Watch with Sapphire Crystal #WW194027

The Marathon Diver’s Quartz Medium is a dive watch built to ISO 6425 standards. The Diver’s Quartz Medium is a smaller, medium sized, version of Marathon’s line of diver’s watches. The Diver’s Quartz Medium is perfect for someone who wants a tough, reliable, and military issue dive watch, yet prefers a reduced size, yet a watch just as tough as its larger brothers.

The Diver’s Quartz Medium is a dive watch with water resistance down to 30 ATM - 300 meters (1000 feet) underwater. Built from 316L surgical grade stainless steel, the Diver’s Quartz Medium is a high quality, purpose built watch that will reliably accompany you on any adventure you may embark on. The Diver’s Quartz Medium comes with a scratch resistant, sapphire glass crystal with anti reflective coating to ensure that the watch maintains maximum legibility even in conditions such as glare from sunlight, or the depths of the sea.

The Diver’s Quartz Medium includes a vulcanized rubber strap. When first worn, the strap will have no holes to put the buckle through and instead must be carefully pierced. This can be done to create a custom fit for superior comfort. The Diver’s Quartz Medium is made in La Chaux de Fonds Switzerland to guarantee the highest level of quality and accuracy in manufacturing. Inside the Diver’s Quartz Medium is a Swiss made, high torque, 3 jewel ETA F06 Quartz movement, the ETA F06 movement is accurate to -0.3/+0.5 seconds per day and includes an End of Life (EOL) indicator that will advance the seconds hand once every 4 seconds to inform you that a battery change is needed. The Diver’s Quartz Medium uses self contained Tritium gas tubes to ensure constant visibility in low light situations, a Tritium gas tube is placed on each hour marker as well as the seconds and minute hands, MaraGlo is used for the 12 hour bezel marker. Tritium tubes are self illuminating gas tubes which contain an isotope of hydrogen, meaning they will not dull down in brightness like normal photoluminescent paint which requires an external light source to create a glow.

The Diver’s Quartz Medium proves that sometimes good things do come in smaller sizes, boasting the same toughness, water resistance, and movement as the larger Marathon diver’s watches, the Diver’s Quartz Medium is a compact package for those who want a lower key watch that still retains the toughness of a larger dive watch. To maintain proper tracking for maintenance,Each Diver’s Quartz Medium comes individually numbered and engraved with a serial number.

Sold my Seiko SKX013 to get this watch. The size is amazing. The bezel and dial both look gorgeous from a distance, really reminds me of an Omega. Very legible font even when the crystal is reflecting. Great lume that lasts for a decade!

I got this for the size, durability, quartz movement since I move my arms a lot, and its nice military history which appeals to me. I love this thing!

Marathon (Medium) watch February 18, 2017

I bought the quartz version as a work watch.  I'm a cattle rancher, and so far this watch is up to the task.  I especially like the tritium hands and stick indices;  I do
some night work and being able to read my watch is important.  One big advantage with tritium--it just works, all the time, every time.
Would I recommend a Marathon watch, absolutely.

Great Watch Without the Bulk October 19, 2016

I was worried about the size being too small for my 7 inch wrist. My first thought was how small this thing is! Compared to most divers, it is smaller. But after some adjustment time, I can say this size doesn't get in the way and makes a statement. It does wear bigger on the wrist. So, this will boil down to preference and if you like your diver/military watch to be larger.

This watch is a good balance of weight and size. It's solid made and keeps superb time. Beautiful brushed steel. The rubber strap is very comfortable and gives a clean line without all the usual sizing holes. The crown looks awesome and nice grip and nice action.

Tritium glows nice at night so when I wake up I can easily see the time. It's not super bright, but that's a good thing so it doesn't disturb your sleep.

Only gripe is when synchronizing the time to my GPS clock, the seconds hand seems to have a slight delay to it. You have to just time it right to get the time synced properly.
