Description Technical Specs

Marathon (Medium) Swiss Made, TSAR Quartz Military Divers Watch with Sapphire Crystal #WW194027

The Marathon Diver’s Quartz Medium is a dive watch built to ISO 6425 standards. The Diver’s Quartz Medium is a smaller, medium sized, version of Marathon’s line of diver’s watches. The Diver’s Quartz Medium is perfect for someone who wants a tough, reliable, and military issue dive watch, yet prefers a reduced size, yet a watch just as tough as its larger brothers.

The Diver’s Quartz Medium is a dive watch with water resistance down to 30 ATM - 300 meters (1000 feet) underwater. Built from 316L surgical grade stainless steel, the Diver’s Quartz Medium is a high quality, purpose built watch that will reliably accompany you on any adventure you may embark on. The Diver’s Quartz Medium comes with a scratch resistant, sapphire glass crystal.

The Diver’s Quartz Medium includes a vulcanized rubber strap. When first worn, the strap will have no holes to put the buckle through and instead must be carefully pierced. This can be done to create a custom fit for superior comfort. The Diver’s Quartz Medium is made in La Chaux de Fonds Switzerland to guarantee the highest level of quality and accuracy in manufacturing. Inside the Diver’s Quartz Medium is a Swiss made, high torque, 3 jewel ETA F06 Quartz movement, the ETA F06 movement is accurate to -0.3/+0.5 seconds per day and includes an End of Life (EOL) indicator that will advance the seconds hand once every 4 seconds to inform you that a battery change is needed. The Diver’s Quartz Medium uses self contained Tritium gas tubes to ensure constant visibility in low light situations, a Tritium gas tube is placed on each hour marker as well as the seconds and minute hands, MaraGlo is used for the 12 hour bezel marker. Tritium tubes are self illuminating gas tubes which contain an isotope of hydrogen, meaning they will not dull down in brightness like normal photoluminescent paint which requires an external light source to create a glow.

The Diver’s Quartz Medium proves that sometimes good things do come in smaller sizes, boasting the same toughness, water resistance, and movement as the larger Marathon diver’s watches, the Diver’s Quartz Medium is a compact package for those who want a lower key watch that still retains the toughness of a larger dive watch. To maintain proper tracking for maintenance,Each Diver’s Quartz Medium comes individually numbered and engraved with a serial number.

Great watch. Mostly pros, one small con. July 18, 2019

Hello all,
Just got my TSAR medium. Must keep my review shorter than normal, due to site constraints. The pros: tight, accurate on 12 bezel, tritium tubes are great. Fainter than superlume, but somehow more legible. Always works in the dark with no heat up. Sapphire crystal  300m WR, smooth screw down crown, with knurling, soft vulcanized rubber strap that's vanilla scented. Tough, well made, excellent watch.

The cons:only real con is the size. It said it was small, but no video shows exactly how small. It's tiny. I found that a 20oz pop bottle cap is the exact size of the crystal. I'm ok with smaller watches, but this pushed it, even for me. If you have a big wrist, or like bigger watches, go bigger. The 41 would probably be perfect, just couldn't afford it. Saving up. Still, great watch, great site and mark seems like a good guy. Will shop here again.

Marathon TSAR medium is a robust tool watch that is comfortable and looks great on the wrist.  Marc at Island Watch provides outstanding customer service -- impressively responds to questions regarding watches even on the weekends.  Thanks!

Took a chance May 22, 2018

When I open the box and looked at the “medium”tsar I laughed ... I kinda of knew the watch would be somewhat smaller but this was ridiculous! The watch is TINY and even after watching several videos of this watch I was a little surprised( I have just under a 7inch wrist) . The videos including the Island Watch video do not represent how tiny this watch really is. I took a chance because I like the look of the watch and it’s history as I know of high end special ops military personnel who actually used the watch. I have contemplated ordering the regular size but can’t see paying over $700 for a quartz even a marathon.
Island Watches was good with crediting my credit card rather quickly, have purchased from Island in the past and will buy again from them for sure.

Tiny watch May 12, 2018

After watching several videos including Island Watches video on the medium tsar I decided to purchase it from Island Watches. The videos do not accurately relate how ridiculously small this watch actually is!! It is beyond tiny, I have a 7inch wrist and the watch and dial look out of place on my wrist. This is really a women’s watch be advertised as “medium” sized men’s watch . I may consider the regular sized Tsar but I can’t see myself spending $700 plus on a quartz watch.
