Orient Monarch Hand Winding Watch with Black Dial and Power Reserve Indicator #DD03002B

The new Orient Monarch watch features an Orient Caliber 48C40 manual, hand winding movement with a 40-hour power reserve indicator on the dial. It has a black dial with white Arabic numerals as hour markers and hash marks on the outer seconds track. The silver colored hour, minute and seconds hands contrast nicely with the black dial. The case size is 40mm x 13mm. You wind the watch with the crown to reach the 40 hour power reserve on the dial indicator. It will run for nearly two days before it needs to be wound. An exhibition window case back allows you to view the hand winding movement.

Note: The Orient Caliber 48C40 mechanical movement is hackable.

Looks like it costs 10x more than it really is September 3, 2018

Probably the nicest watch I own. The strap that is comes with is nothing to write home about but when it is paired with a black crocodile strap, it looks like a million bucks. I would definitely recommend this watch to anyone looking for a nice dress watch.

Great! December 13, 2017

My first Orient watch and, I must say, I'm very impressed. The fit and finish is quite good for an entry level piece and it's an all around looker. I'd like it in a smaller size more suited to its classical looks, but it's still a great piece.

Orient Monarch--A classy watch February 23, 2017
Reviewer: Chase Middleton from Lexington, NC United States
I was happy to find an Orient watch that was the style I had been looking for and was a mechanical movement.  The watch arrived quickly and was packaged well. So far, the watch has kept great time. I really enjoy the mechanical movement and the asthetics of the watch. The leather strap was indeed of better quality than my other Orient watch strap that came on a previously-ordered watch, and it wears nicely. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase, and I would buy from Long Island watch again.

In love with this watch! February 2, 2017
Reviewer: Karan Jain from Southern NJ United States
I was thrilled to find Orient made hand-winding mechanical watches. Long Island is one of the only retailers in the US that carries the Monarch line. I love the classic font used for the hour indicators - it's quirky and much more interesting than conventional fonts used nowadays. The breguet hands complement the font further. In over a week it has managed to gain just 1 minute. Resynching requires minimal effort as the movement hacks. The winding is very smooth and aided by a well-sized crown. Unfortunately, I dropped the watch on the carpet to no effect, which speaks to its durability. I have thin wrists but the watch doesn't have overhang. Its beveled case shape make it appear smaller. It can pass as a dress watch or daily wear. I love the Orient logo and its execution on the dial is super detailed. Most Orients have "Automatic" on the dial but this one proudly displays "Mechanical". Everything about this watch is slightly different - so buy it to be unique...and a little quirky! ;)
