Before going into the watch itself. I would like to say that buying from LongIslandwatch.com is an absolute pleasure. The item was described accurately, priced appropriately, and delivered fast. Now the watch is all what i expected, amazing quality and finish. The leather strap is comfortable and i just love the deployment clasp.

Island Watch is the best of the best. Great service, great prices, great products, all accurately presented. My first choice to buy any level of watch.

    Durability issues?

Posted by Michael Gibbs on Dec 15th 2014

Update 12-15-14: After wearing the watch for over a year, I accidentally dropped the watch a couple of months ago, it fell crystal down onto the laminate flooring in my living room. When I picked the watch up, I immediately noticed a number of loose 'particles' floating around inside the watch on the dial and on the bottom surface of the crystal, and a distortion of the dial up near the 12 o clock position. I inspected the watch under a microscope, and the material looks to be some type of adhesive, which I assume is used to glue the dial down. The watch requires repair now to remove the crystal, remove the particles, and either replace the dial or reglue the dial. No idea how much this will cost, may be more than the watch is worth. Watch still runs fine, no issues with the movement as one would expect from Orient. All in all, a great watch, but just know that it may not be use the most durable of construction methods to attach the dial to the case.

Not sure why anyone would buy the fancy brand names after wearing this watch. Nice clasp and exhibition back.
