Orient Kamasu Black Dial Automatic Dive Watch with Sapphire Crystal #RA-AA0005B19A

“Kamasu” is the Japanese word for Barracuda, a fitting name for a watch where the triangular hour marker and arrow hands that resemble teeth. The design of the 120-click bezel is a little different as well—a dotted minutes pattern in between bold numerals. The watch also sports a day and date complication similarly to the Orient divers that came before it.

The black PVD case measures 41.8mm in diameter by 12.8mm thick (and 46.8mm from lug to lug). The Kamasu comes equipped with a black silicone-rubber dive strap with a matching buckle closure. A flat sapphire crystal provides scratch resistance and gives you a clear view of the dial. Powering the watch is an Orient made F6922 mechanical movement that is self-winding, hand-windable and supports hacking.

5 of 5 On time, and as ordered. August 12, 2019
Reviewer: Richard B Thompson from Cornelius, OR United States
What can I say? The watch arrived on time, was well packaged, and exactly as I ordered it. I especially like that they make youtube videos of some of their products, and they have watches for all income levels.

The watch itself has slightly better finishing than other Orients I have in my collection. The sapphire crystal was huge plus. The styling is more aggressive than my Mako 2. The tooth shaped hour and minute markers catch the eye. This is both hacking and hand-winding, although I find the new Orients to be a little 'crunchy' when hand-winding. Accuracy when worn is about 15 seconds fast. I think Orient finally got all the design elements of the diver just right with the Kamasu. Great watch for the price.

5 of 5 Most underrated of the Kamasu lineup June 22, 2019

Watch looks amazing on Crown and Buckle black nato with gold hardware finish. The black and gold coating is very well done and has yet to scratch or chip.  Most buyers appear to gravitate towards the green, red, or blue LE Kamasu, but this black and gold variant is my personal favorite.  Blingy but not over-the-top with it.

5 of 5 Very nice watch June 13, 2019

The watch looks great on my rather small wrist...The lume is very good and the watch is easy to read. The turning bezel works nicely. Now my every day wearer.
