Orient Kamasu Blue Dial Automatic Dive Watch with Sapphire Crystal #RA-AA0006L19A

“Kamasu” is the Japanese word for Barracuda, a fitting name for a watch where the triangular hour marker and arrow hands that resemble teeth. The design of the 120-click bezel is a little different as well—a dotted minutes pattern in between bold numerals. The watch also sports a day and date complication similarly to the Orient divers that came before it.

The stainless steel case measures 41.8mm in diameter by 12.8mm thick (and 46.8mm from lug to lug). The Kamasu comes equipped with a black silicone-rubber dive strap with a matching buckle closure. A flat sapphire crystal provides scratch resistance and gives you a clear view of the dial. Powering the watch is an Orient made F6922 mechanical movement that is self-winding, hand-windable and supports hacking.

My first Orient watch. May 31, 2019
Reviewer: J Gallant from Halifax, NS Canada
I wasn't really sure what to expect from this purchase as I haven't bought an Orient watch before- but I have several Seiko watches and as Orient is partially owned by Seiko/Epsom I assumed they would be great- and great value for money. After wearing the watch for about a month now I find myself really enjoying it as much as when I first put it on. What's not to like- hacks, hand winds, day/date, screw down crown, and sapphire crystal, bright lume, and a beautiful blue dial... the rubber strap is also very comfortable to wear. The fit and finish overall is excellent as well. Very happy with the purchase and Marc was very helpful with my inquiries. Shipping to Canada was fast with no issues. I hope to enjoy this watch for many years.

Owned this watch for 2 weeks now and I really like it. Gains about 10 to 15 seconds a day. Inside, the dial looks nearly black. Outside in direct sunlight, it is so blue. I catch myself staring at it all the time. Ordered mine with the rubber strap, OEM metal bracelets for entry level watches are not worth having. Just waiting for someone to make a better one. The watch also comes with a sapphire crystal. When Marc gets a better bracelet and ceramic bezel in, I will order them and a tool kit to play with. Watched many of their YouTube videos, very informative and helped me make decisions without bothering Marc with a bunch of emails. Long Island Watches is a great place to buy or learn about watches.

Love this watch a lot May 13, 2019

I was looking for a watch that I could use when I go casual and this is the one for me.  What attracted me to this watch is its blue face and the fact that it has sapphire glass.  It just irks me when I see scratches on the face glass, and this one fits the bill.  So far, it’s been keeping accurate time and I don’t have any thing to say bad about this wonderful watch.  Sized at 41mm but doesn’t look big on my 6.5 inch wrist.  The rubber strap that came with it is too long for my wrist and replaced it with a rubber strap that looks like a black metal bracelet which is perfect for my wrist and also bought it from Long Island Watch.
