The Orient Star Open-Heart is powered by an Orient made Cal. 40R53 automatic (self-winding) movement that can be hand wound and has hacking capability. The movement has a power reserve of 40 hours. The hands and dots at the hour markers are treated with luminous material for viewing in the dark. The white dial has an open-heart at 9:00 that allows you to see the balance wheel in action as you wear the watch. Also, there is a very useful power reserve indicator at the 12:00 position that shows up to 40 hours of run-time when full wound.

The case is a mix of polished and satin brushed finishes. The crown is signed with the Orient Star logo. The bracelet is a fine combination of polished and gently satin brushed stainless steel. The polished parts are very smooth in order to reinforce the classic motif of the watch. The clasp is double button fold-over and proudly features the Orient Star logo engraving. The case measures at 39mm in diameter and 11.9mm thick. All Orient Star Open-Heart models feature an exhibition case back, and the movement is fully decorated with an Orient Star logo on the oscillating weight.

The Open-Heart models also feature a flat, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating to allow clear reading of the time at different angles. Overall, it is a beautiful, high quality watch that you will be proud to own.

    Watch Review: After few weeks of researching Orient watches, I decided on this Orient Star model. This purchase was made immediately after I returned a similarly styled watch from Frederique Constant. Both has open heart feature with automatic in-house movement and sapphire crystal, but FC was about 40% higher in MSRP. The main reason for the return on FC was that their in-house movement made a horrible rattling noise (I verified that it was not defective by comparing the noise on other FC models at a retail store). This OS's movement does not rattle and it seems to work very efficiently. On a normal day at the office, the power reserve reaches full from almost empty. My only gripe on this OS unit is the bracelet. Despite being a solid bracelet, it's light and just feels cheap. I swapped it out with a leather deployment strap. LongIslandWach Review: I would buy again without hesitation. Item arrived fast and well packaged.

    El reloj es mas bonito que en las fotos. La unión de los mates y los brillos es magnífica. No tiene nada que envidiarle a los alta gama suizos. Simplemente estupendo.

    Orient Star is superb

    Watch was much more stunning than imagined. The fit and size are perfect. This is my 2nd Orient Star and both watches keep accurate time. I am really impressed with such attention to detail at a bargain price. I can not find anyting negative about this watch.
