Pilot and Aviator Watches

A wide variety of watches can fall into this category. The traditional pilots watch has a variety of features ranging from open dial, the standard round case, simple readable hands, leather straps, and a second hand or small sub dial. From the WWII era, there are two dials that are prevalent. One is the Type A pilot watch with large hour numbers, a sixty-minute scale on the chapter ring or outer part of the dial, and a triangle at 12:00. The Type B dial (or bomber) pilot watch has a large minute scale on the outer dial and a smaller inner dial for the hours. GMT dual time watches are also in the pilot watch category, as well as watches that feature flight computer functions, etc.
