Red Star Jump Hour Automatic Watch AR Sapphire Crystal #8176G-A

This new Red Star watch features a 20-jewel SeaGull TY2709 automatic movement with a jump hour at 12:00 and large minutes hand. The red airplane at 6:00 acts as a seconds indicator. The movement allows hand winding, but does not hack.

The watch has a black PVD stainless case that is 44mm in diameter and 13mm thick. The black dial features white numbers and markers and a red star under the 12:00 position. The crystal is anti-reflective, scratch-resistant sapphire. The watch comes with a suede leather strap with a buckle closure. The lug width is 20mm should you want to change out the strap at some point.

My first jump hour watch!

As sometimes happens, the first watch I received had mechanical problems. I emailed Marc and he sent out another one immediately so I knew that customer service would not be a problem with this company. The replacement arrived shortly and I set it and wound it and it is one of the most accurate automatics that I own. The single hand and the numbers are luminous but the hour window isn't lit. There is a small window at 6 with a spinning wheel so you can tell it's running. There is one flaw in the design in my opinion. The hand covers about half of the hour window when the numbers jump - you have to look at an extreme side angle to see any movement and the experience is definitely diminished. The hand should be much narrower at the end. Nice looking watch with comfortable suede band and should generate a lot of interest and comments!

1st jump hour

This is actually my 1st jump hour watch in my collection and I wanted something different. This just happened to fit the bill at that exact time. Love the color of the dial, bright red numerals. Very comfortable to wear as well.
