Seiko 2019 Monster Automatic with new Case and Bezel Design #SRPD25

I just got mine today and it's a fantastic looking watch with prompt shipping and everything aligned. I never liked the previous iterations of the Monster but this one is a winner.

Really liking this version of the Monster. Bit more sedate (which I like), comfortable and wears smaller than the case size might otherwise indicate. Shipping was pretty quick.

I extremely pleased with this watch. It's rock solid like the other Seiko Prospex divers that I own (none of which have alignment problems). The bracelet is very comfortable and of high quality, despite the pressed clasp. The dial color is beautiful and goes from navy blue to almost black depending on the light. My favorite part of the watch is the bezel. The concave shape works well with the overall design and I like how the black contrasts with the steel case when viewed from the side. The bezel marking are a nice cream color that perfectly matches the dial indices. I thought I would like the cyclops but my eyes are so old (+2 readers) that I need my glasses to see the date with or without it. I eventually got up the never to pop it off and I like it even better now. I own a number of divers and there is honestly no better value than something in the Seiko Prospex line. As always, Marc is very response to my questions and offers top-notch customer service. A+

Watch is just OK, I honestly don't understand the hype. The metal bracelet is terrible and it cuts your wrist. I thankfully sold it for what I paid for it on ebay. On the other hand, Marc is condescending and make believe know-it-all towards his customers. I have made 2 disastrous purchases from Island Watch and both resulted in obnoxious emails from Marc. Not the way to treat a customer. In the day of Amazon Prime, the shipping speed and charges from IW are a joke. I know he has his followers, but I am guessing that either they welcome sub-standard quality or they got lucky with what they bought. I am not drinking this Kool-Aid. There is nothing on the IW website that cannot be found elsewhere and typically with better pricing and service. Needless to say, I will NOT be buying again from IW.

this watch has a refined powerful look to it that isn’t obvious in photos. the dial is captivating with its shades of blue and silver trim. weight-wise it has a pleasant heft to it. heavier than my 1st gen. the movement keeps excellent time. love the hand winding and hacking feature. the bracelet is fantastic..it’s the only stock bracelet i haven’t replaced. if my collection were ever reduced down to two watches...this would remain (next to my SKX007)

First off, dealing with LIW is always a pleasure. Modern business model with old school customer services. Win/Win. The Goods.. Im stoked that I finally own a monster. The brushed / polished bracelet is sharp and has the unique monster bracelet design that gets a lot of complements. The deep subtle blue of the dial plays well with the gun metal grey bezel. It’s a heavy watch, but not obnoxious and and it fits well on my smaller wrist. The Bad.. The action on the bezel isn’t as good as expected. It’s not very crisp. Almost somewhat loose compared to my SKX and Samurai.

Great watch and service from IW. My only peeve would be that it would be nice to know exactly what I am paying (in CDN funds) when checking out. Guaranteed this won’t be my last purchase from this trustworthy vendor.
