Description Technical Specs

Seiko Prospex Third Generation Monster with Seiko 6R15, 23-Jewel Automatic Movement #SZSC003

This is a very rare third generation blue dial Seiko Prospex SZSC003 that comes with the higher grade Seiko 6R15 automatic movement. The 6R15 uses a high capacity Spron 510 mainspring to provide a 50 hour runtime when fully wound. That is about nine hours greater than the now discontinued Seiko Monster II with its Caliber 4R36 movement. The movement also hand winds and is hackable. The powerful Seiko LumiBrite luminescent material used on the hands and markers gives the watch a bright greenish-blue glow in the dark (when charged with light) for several hours. The hour markers on this edition only use the shark-tooth design from the Monster II at 12:00.

Lug width is 20mm. Case size is 42.3mm. Slightly domed Hardlex mineral crystal. Concave uni-directional rotating dive bezel helps protect the crystal. It has a Seiko stainless steel bracelet with dual push-button deployant clasp (and diver extension). Solid screw-in case back. Water resistant to 200 meters. Date window at 3:00.

  • Back: Engraved screw-in back

It’s Mansour B again with another review March 20, 2019

What’s up baby, it’s Steve, aka Manny B, back with another review. I got this watch about a month ago as a present from my wife, it’s super dope.

If you want to flex with a big thick piece, and I know you do, this is the watch the bad boys sporting out here, feel me?

The bracelet is a bit difficult to mess with for an amateur, such as myself, so I took it to a jeweler to remove the links.

It’s a cool watch you will like it.

Blue Monster June 13, 2018

Good watch, much improved from the first edition.  much better movement ,it now hacks and you can also wind it. the elimination of the day and the addition of the loop over the date it's also a winner, so is knurling on the crown,  much easier to open and close.  my first one was orange, at my age  the blue is very discreet and wearable for any occasion.  I wear two watches a day never wear the same two two days in a row, I've now had this one on for over 30 days with 12 different strap changes.  very versatile, the only complaint is with the bracelet, at this price point the bracelet should have screws not pins and sleeves, too complicated for amateurs not secure enough for professionals, it does look great though.  with that said, the price is not bad I paid $139 for my first one 15 years ago this one was 625 I have watches that cost three or four times more than this one and are not as sturdy.  in this case I am happy to report that you do get what you pay for

This is one sweet looking watch and seems that the quality is on par. Love the color and the cyclop for the date. I need it to see it better. I'm going to get the Jade color soon !!!

Great watch-Finally May 28, 2018

The Monster has been around for nearly 2 decades and Seiko finally did it right. I owned the original in both black and orange years ago but couldn't deal with the very basic movement. With the addition of the 6R15 and a couple other small changes it is now a watch I can wear  and enjoy.  Well worth the wait. It runs like a charm and looks awesome.

I love this watch March 24, 2018

The watch fits me well, but then I have a 7.8” wrist.    It will now be my Friday watch. The 6R movement appears that it will be very accurate.  After 48 hours of wear since receiving it it is 3 seconds fast. My other two 6R15 SARBs are in that range as well. More accurate than my swiss Made watches (2824) and consistent with another Swiss Made watch that has an SW500.

The flat blue dial is perfect I think. This watch just looks awesome. I’ll probably put a NATO strap with it soon. Black I think.

Now for the downside. My wife noticed this watch on me right off the bat. I got busted. Didn’t pass for just my old SKX.
