Seiko Green Dial Automatic Alpinist Field Watch with 38mm Case, and Sapphire Crystal #SARB017

The Seiko SARB017 field watch is powered by the premium Seiko 6R15 caliber self-winding movement that can also be hand wound and hacked. It is the same caliber that powers many of the Seiko Prospex line of watches. The movement has a generous 50 hour power reserve. The case has a fine brushed finish and the green dial sports highly luminous goldtone hands and hour markers. A date display is shown at the 3 o'clock position. A scratch resistant sapphire crystal is used to protect the dial. The watch is water resistant to 200 meters. Note: The crown at 4:00 turns the inner (compass marked) bezel. Case is a mix of brushed and polished stainless steel.

Nice watch! August 15, 2018
Reviewer: William Stanke from Moscow, ID United States
I didn't think I would ever be able to buy a Seiko Alpinist, as they had been discontinued in February. Marc apparently received an order of old stock and notified me. I immediately pounced on it, before he sold out. The watch arrived quickly, and was nicely packaged. I have swapped out the original leather band for an Alpha Shark NATO strap. I think I will eventually get a Strapcode "super jubilee" stainless steel bracelet for it as well. It is a very pretty watch (if you like green dials, which I do).

Exceptional Purchasing Experience August 10, 2018
Reviewer: William Wallace from Ontario, Canada
I had been hoping to pick up a Seiko Alpinist for at least a few months, especially as I watched its price climb as they became harder to get. I was, however, hesitant to buy one without being able to readily verify the watch's provenance. Amazon's various sellers, for example, were a no go. I first contacted Marc in May, 2018, and he was extremely attentive and helpful. (He responded to my email in exactly 5 minutes!) He assured me that he was attempting to bring in more Alpinists and that he would try to keep the price very close to his original selling price. Fast forward to early August when I received my Alpinist, and I am happy to say the watch arrived as promised, was sold at a great price, and--believe the hype--is a real stunner on the wrist. I wholeheartedly endorse Long Island Watch and especially Marc--he's a knowledgeable, humble, stand up guy who is a pleasure to do business with. I look forward to many more happy purchases. Thanks, Marc!

LIW is the best! Seiko? maybe less so. August 9, 2018
Reviewer: Thomas Lovell from Granville, MA United States
Five stars to LIW for obtaining a no-longer-in-production JDM watch for me. And the watch itself is extremely pretty and appears authentic. However, two things detract from the watch. The (brown leather) band it came with is the ugliest and stiffest watchband I've ever seen. That was expected and easily remedied with a new band. And my cheap Timegrapher 1000 says the watch loses 27-32 seconds per day, and that seems to be the case on my wrist. That, too, can be remedied. But you would think it would be closer. A sarcastic "thanks, Seiko"; but a sincere "thanks, Mark."

Seiko 6R15 Trio July 23, 2018
Reviewer: Mark K from PA, United States
I wanted to get the SARB017 to complete my Seiko 6R15 trio including the SARB065 Cocktail time and the SBDC033 BLUMO.   With the green alpinist being discontinued, prices are going up, but Island Watch still had them for a reasonable price so I got it.   The green face can be a little polarizing but I wear it when I hike so it has a kind of organic presence out in the woods that i like.  I had browsed the IW site several times prior to buying this and everything on that end with ordering and receiving promptly was great.  I certainly would order again from them.

I Love this Alpinist. May 1, 2018
Reviewer: JFZ from East TN
After stumbling across a Youtube video of the Alpinist, I really wanted one. I am normally not a fan of green dials, but something about this watch just grabbed me.  When I finally purchased one, I couldn't have been happier.  It is such a unique and attractive watch, and the photos on the site don't come close to doing it justice.
Like many others, I am not in Love with the strap. It looks nice enough, but is very stiff and doesn't seem to want to sit centered on my wrist. That's okay, because I didn't buy the watch for the strap and it is easily replaced. I ordered a Darlena strap for it, and it looks and feels even better. Sadly, Seiko discontinued this beauty, so if you want one, and can find it at a decent price, snap it up!
Finally, thanks to Marc for all his help and service.
