Scratch and Dent - Seiko Green Dial Automatic Alpinist Field Watch with 38mm Case, and Sapphire Crystal #SARB017 1

Scratch and Dent - Seiko Green Dial Automatic Alpinist Field Watch with 38mm Case, and Sapphire Crystal #SARB017

This is a scratch and dent Seiko SARB017 field watch. The movement has been repaired. Like new condition otherwise.

The Seiko SARB017 field watch is powered by the premium Seiko 6R15 caliber self-winding movement that can also be hand wound and hacked. It is the same caliber that powers many of the Seiko Prospex line of watches. The movement has a generous 50 hour power reserve. The case has a fine brushed finish and the green dial sports highly luminous goldtone hands and hour markers. A date display is shown at the 3 o'clock position. A scratch resistant sapphire crystal is used to protect the dial. The watch is water resistant to 200 meters. Note: The crown at 4:00 turns the inner (compass marked) bezel. Case is a mix of brushed and polished stainless steel.

    I love my Alpinist

Posted by Alouette de Mer on Jan 13th 2018

I love my Alpinist cult watch. Its size is perfect since ladies are wearing larger watches nowadays, so it's just right for me, for it's feminine and stylish these days. With the green sunburst face, it's quite an eye-catcher. Since I live in Colorado and hike in the mountains, I'm a lady Yamaotoko. The accuracy is an average of -2 sec/day. I use the time standard at WWV (303-499-7111). Yes, the band was somewhat stiff. To solve this, in addition to daily wearing, at night I attached the watch to a watch box insert shaped like the wrist, and on the fifth hole on the band, just like I wear it. Now the band is supple and shaped to my wrist. However, I'm considering the jubilee bracelet for this watch, since it's reminiscent of my long lost love, my first gen GMT Master with the jubilee. Thank you, Mark, for making this JDM cult watch available here in the States. Now that I own one, I can understand why it has such a loyal following and why it's in such high demand.
