This is my second Seiko purchase from Island Watch. Always enjoy Marc’s YouTube channel. Thank you for stocking the SKX J!

Outstanding service! January 12, 2019

The skx line is iconic. It comprises what most agree is the ultimate entry-level automatic diver line. Known for its simple-but-revolutionary 7S26 movement with no hacking or hand-winding. The hardlex crystal and flimsy jubilee bracelet give it an endearing charm. However, it is also famous for qc (quality control) issues. So the question is, how do I pick one of these up without having to worry about the qc issues?
Buy from a trustworthy and reputable dealer. Inevitably some of these watches leave the factory with qc issues.
I purchased this watch (skx009j) from island and when I received it, I quickly noticed that part of the rubber seal was hanging out the caseback. It was already late in the evening so I emailed Marc assuming he would respond the next day. Marc responded less than an hour later offering to immediately send a new watch and provide a postage-paid return. I had the new watch 2 days later and it is free of defects. I can now enjoy confidently this iconic watch!

SKX009J January 11, 2019

The watch arrived quickly and upon opening the package I see that the box is torn all the way down one side. Upon closer inspection, I see that there's no warranty card (I emailed Marc and he has since shipped it out).

The watch's chapter ring was aligned perfect, (I actually emailed beforehand and Marc said he would check it for me before posting) although sadly it was off by 3 minutes and the lume at 6 is also skewed, which I know has Seiko at fault.

The watch keeps time at +7 seconds per day and is a fantastic first mechanical watch, overall I am quite pleased and would give 5 stars and also recommend.
