Seiko 5 Sports 24-Jewel, Automatic with Rotating Compass Bezel #SRP665K1

Seiko 5 Sports 24-Jewel, Automatic with Rotating Compass Bezel #SRP665K1

This striking Seiko 5 Sports watch is powered by a Seiko 4R36, 24-jewel self-winding automatic movement with hand winding and hacking (seconds hand stops when you pull out the crown). A compass marked rotating bezel is provided for field use, hiking, camping, etc. The hands and hour markers are luminous filled with Seiko's famous LumiBrite for excellent time viewing in the dark. The blue dial and blue bezel combined with a woven blue nylon strap has an eye-catching presence on your wrist. It is a really superb watch for the money.

The watch features a 44mm diameter stainless steel case, a Hardlex mineral crystal, a day and date window, and it is water resistant to 100 meters. Includes a Seiko box with papers. Note: This version has a dark blue dial, and the case has a bead-blasted finish.

    Outstanding timepiece

Posted by atanas entchev on Dec 6th 2016

This watch exceeded my expectations. It has a hefty feel, the bezel rotates just right -- smoothly but not flimsy. The lume is excellent. But all that pales in comparison to the accuracy. The watch ran at +/- 0.5 (!) straight out if the box for the first ten days, then started gaining a little (which is normal) and now runs at ~+2.5 sec/day. This is way within COSC specifications of -4/+6 that is the standard for much more expensive officially-certified timepieces such as Rolex. Bottom line: probably the best timepiece this watch geek has ever owned.

    Really nice looking blue Seiko

Posted by MCW on Nov 10th 2016

I bought this watch along with the SRP669K1. The blue dial version has a matte finish or bead blasted (I think), and the dark blue dial has a flat (no sunburst) finish. It looks really nice on a variety of straps I own. The lume is stellar! And, I really like the style of the hands. Great buy!
