Seiko Solar Quartz Chronograph with Stop-Watch and 24-hour Sub-Dial #SSC021P1

Seiko Solar Quartz Chronograph with Stop-Watch and 24-hour Sub-Dial #SSC021P1

This Seiko is a handsome looking quartz diver-style chronograph with stopwatch functions (1/20 sec to 60 minutes), and a handy 24-hour sub-dial. The black dial absorbs energy from the sun to power the watch. Most indoor lighting can provide a charge as well. The stainless steel case measures 43mm and it has a solid screw-in back. The luminous markers and hands are easily viewable on the black dial. Includes a uni-directional black dive bezel with luminous PIP at 12:00, screw-down pushers, a yellow ringed screw-in crown, Seiko rubber dive strap with a buckle closure. The watch is 200 meter water resistant. Make sure all pushers and crown are screwed-in for swimming.

    Great watch, fantastic service!

    Posted by J. N. on Sep 1st 2017

I recently went on a bit of a binge and ordered several Seiko tool watches, this SSC021P1 being one of them. It's hard to say which is my favorite, but I think this might be it. It's a big watch with presence, but it wears very comfortably on my 7" wrist and is much lighter than I expected. I love the chrono subdials and the way the lumed indices are raised off of the solar panel face. The bezel action is solid, but more fluid than that of my SKX. The strap is terrible, but that's easily corrected. Marc is great to work with. The watch arrived in perfect condition four days after I ordered it. Previously I had ordered an SKX from Marc and it had a mechanical issue. I emailed Marc and he responded instantly. Not sure if he needed the order info, two days later at 10:30 pm I emailed him with that. He literally responded one minute later saying it wasn't necessary, and that the replacement head had already shipped! That's crazy good customer service!

Solid Watch So Far but Misaligned

    Posted by A.E. on Sep 23rd 2016

This watch is great so far with an accurate quartz. I've been wearing it on a composite strap with yellow stitching. I find it comfortable and the watch has some weight but not too much. The chrono works great. I think the color of black and yellow and white is just right on this watch. Lume: A+ Seiko. Can still read markers in the morning. The problem: a misalignment or misprint that causes the bezel, chapter ring and indexes to be ever so slightly off. It seems the chapter ring might be the culprit. Very slight but I'm OCD. Disappointed, but I know it's not a high end watch. Still, Seiko should pay attention to details as this seems to be happening often to people which I've read in online forums. I decided to keep the watch, even though Marc was quick to respond to me and said that I could return it. I told him I would keep it and sort of glad I did. The alignment issue is there but it's very small and hardly noticeable. A+ service from L. Island!
