Timex 40mm Marlin 21-Jewel Automatic Watch with Silver Dial #TW2T22700ZV

Timex 40mm Marlin 21-Jewel Automatic Watch with Silver Dial #TW2T22700ZV

The iconic 1960s Timex Marlin® is now available with an self-winding movement. Ticking inside is a tried and true 21 jewel automatic movement, creating a contemporary timepiece that honors Timex’s watchmaking history. True to Timex’s original Marlin® design, the stainless-steel case and dial are complemented with an iconic domed crystal and a classic leather strap, featuring leather from the S.B. Foot Tanning Company.

21 JEWEL MIYOTA 8215 MOVEMENT

The exhibition case back puts the Marlin’s movement on full display. Functional and beautiful, 21 jewels are used at the friction points to make the movement last longer, keep the mechanics better aligned and increase the accuracy of the watch.

MID-CENTURY DESIGN

The Marlin collection is not a re-imagining of a classic 1960s watch, but a careful recreation. From the sleek dial to the leather strap, Timex stayed true to the mid-century design of the original Marlin — a watch known for its ability to take a licking and keep on ticking.

DOMED CRYSTAL LENS
True to our original 1960s Marlin design, Timex brought back the traditional domed crystal of the original Marlin watch.

    Marlin Mesh Strap

I love this watch but it would look much better with a mesh strap. Then you have a late 1950's watch.

Perhaps over priced but its a nostalgic Timex

Posted by Mark on Sep 16th 2019

First of all, Marc at Long Island watch is phenomenal! Accurate and very quick shipping. Hopefully, he will add some mid-luxury watches to his lineup. The watch itself is above average. I like the retro look silver sunburst dial grown up to modern day 40mm. The strap is very comfortable albeit thin. Timex should use Redwing strap!

I was looking for one of these for about a year, watching Mark's reviews really helped me to pull the triger; and again hassel free purchase. Cheers,

    Marlin Automatic Watch

Posted by Unknown on Feb 27th 2019

Of course I did not need this watch. I had a Marlin when I was a kid, and I had to get this one--for old times' sake. It keeps perfect time. Really. I don't think it gains or loses at all. The Miyota movement is excellent.

While I think Timex has priced this watch a little high, I love the look!

    value

takinh into account what around 200 $ usually get you in a warehouse watch department, this ticls all the boxes. Forget about the Wellingtons, Movements or any other fashion branded wrist-watch and save your money in this one. I even see it as a competitor to the often chosen Bambino, as this one here carries a less vintage design. Well done

    NOT a mineral crystal

Posted by Jay Evensen on Oct 31st 2018

Just to clarify, the crystal is acrylic, not mineral as listed in the description. Mine got a scratch on it the first week, and I used Polywatch to rub it out instantly, which would happen only with acrylic. To me, this doesn't diminish from the watch. It only adds to its mid-century aesthetic. I love everything about this Timex, except that the date window is too small for my aging eyes. It's so nice to see Timex making mechanical watches once again. As an older person, when I wear this watch it reminds me of the '60s, when I first started wearing a Timex. I love the style and feel, and the movement is accurate enough to be reliable.

Very nice quality with a retro feel

    Posted by K D on Oct 18th 2018

I purchased this watch after watching Marc's review on YouTube. I liked the initial Marlin re-issue but it was just too small for me. This one is almost perfect. I really enjoy the retro look and Timex lineage / story to it. The silver dial in contrast to the brown leather band is very nice. Every time I look at my wrist i think I am wearing a vintage piece. I also have a large wrists, 8.5" and it wears very well and does not look small at all. Like Marc said the leather strap is nice and soft, and forms great to your wrist. Not a huge fan of the non-hacking movement, but overall I really enjoy this watch. I also think I might have gotten the one Marc used in his video, at had a bend in the strap where it was tried on by a smaller wrist. LOL I have really enjoyed lately buying watches that are inexpensive compared to most. It is a challenge to find the most bang for your buck, and a balance of good quality. Long Island Watch provides that!
