Timex 40mm Marlin 21-Jewel Automatic Watch with Stainless Steel Case and Green Dial #TW2U11900ZV

Timex 40mm Marlin 21-Jewel Automatic Watch with Stainless Steel Case and Green Dial #TW2U11900ZV

The iconic 1960s Timex Marlin® is now available with an self-winding automatic movement. Ticking inside is a tried and true 21 jewel automatic movement, creating a contemporary timepiece that honors Timex’s watchmaking history. True to Timex’s original Marlin® design, the stainless-steel case and rich green dial are complemented with a period correct domed acrylic crystal and a matching green leather strap (now with quick-change pins).

21 JEWEL MIYOTA 8205 MOVEMENT

The exhibition case back puts the Marlin’s movement on full display. Functional and beautiful, 21 jewels are used at the friction points to make the movement last longer, keep the mechanics better aligned and increase the accuracy of the watch.

MID-CENTURY DESIGN

The Marlin collection is not a re-imagining of a classic 1960s watch, but a careful recreation. From the sleek dial to the leather strap, Timex stayed true to the mid-century design of the original Marlin — a watch known for its ability to take a licking and keep on ticking.

DOMED ACRYLIC CRYSTAL LENS
True to the original 1960s Marlin design, Timex brought back the traditional domed acrylic crystal of the original Marlin watch.

    Cool Classic

Posted by JMora on Mar 7th 2021

Love the watch and it's classic look. The dark forest green dial is nice. Strap is not bad either, just need some time for breaking-in. Got the watch for $199, more than it's counterpart, the bambino, but bought it for its heritage and styling. Day and date is pretty small and hard to see without the right lighting. Lume on the hands is very faint and no lume on its indices. A little thick at 13mm. Despite these, I still give it a 5 star for the coolness factor alone and I'm getting a decent power reserve. Oh, a mechanical Timex too, perfect for the weekender, dress up or dress down.
