Traser P68 Pathfinder Swiss Automatic Watch with Compass, AR Sapphire Crystal #107718

Traser P68 Pathfinder Swiss Automatic Watch with Compass, AR Sapphire Crystal #107718

The new P68 Pathfinder Automatic features a 46mm black plated stainless steel case and it is powered by a Swiss automatic movement. It comes with a black nylon strap with an offset grey stripe. It has a beautiful, radiant black dial with an inner-rotating compass.

The P68 Pathfinder Automatic captivates with its clean lines. The purist case of blackened cast iron is peppered with fine details: the mat surfaces skillfully alternate with polished edges to add a touch of understated sophistication to the watch.

A glimpse inside the case reveals the secret of the P68 Pathfinder Automatic: a compass ring, which can be operated with one hand using the crown at 8 o’clock. The ring, used in combination with the position of the sun and the hour hand, makes setting the individual position and geographical directions as easy as pie. The display and the numbers are simple and clean thus enabling for excellent readability of the information.

Light is the primary element of all traser models – traser being the inventor of the self-powered illumination technology trigalight®. This is also the case for the P68 Pathfinder Automatic.

The eyes first dive into the mystical midnight-black dial, reminding one of the infinity of the universe. In-house manufactured trigalight® self-powered illumination tubes stress the already effective numerals during the day. Additional trigalight® inserts on the hands allow for readability even in adverse lighting conditions. 24/7. With no external energy source, and with a virtually unchanged intensity for at least 10 years.

When the night comes, a unique spectacle of light and colors starts on the wrist. The green luminous ring radiates over the upper edge of the case. Super-LumiNova elements on the dial and on the compass ring are golden-yellow. When these are completely dimmed down, trigalight® takes over the lead role. The self-activated tubes filled with tritium turn into the brightest stars on your wrist, and will lead you safely until the dawn.

    Great watch, great service

Posted by Mark on May 12th 2020

I have wanted one of these P68 Trasers for a while. I didn’t know that Traser had distribution problems in 2019 and that was the reason these watches were unavailable at that time. Thanks go out to Marc for explaining this in one of his videos. So, when I saw the black dial version of the P68 Pathfinder available I jumped at the chance. This is a nice watch. I prefer it over the Seiko Alpinist/Prospex compass watches which I had also considered. The Traser has more of a tool watch look about it which is what I wanted. Super luminova/tritium is really the best of both worlds. The screw down compass crown is a nice feature as well. I really like the yellow and green accents on the dial, it makes this watch stand out so much more than the Seiko versions. This is the third Traser I have owned. They have all been very well made, reliable watches. And, once you have experienced tritium lume, you wish every watch had it.
