Orient Star Classic Automatic Dress Watch with Power Reserve, Domed Crystal #EL05003W

I give this watch five stars as it is a beautifully classic watch and it is keeping perfect time. I love the fact that I do not have to keep it in a winder but can wind it manually if I do not wear it for a few days. The blue steel hands are a beautiful touch to this very classic watch. The size and thickness are just right. Does not have the pancake look on my wrist. Simply a classic beautiful watch that I know I will have and enjoy for a long time. I have many (too many) watches but if I were allowed to only keep two or three of them, this would be one of many I would keep.

Popular watch for good reason; had to wait on back order status. Beautiful and quite accurate. Hopefully it will last a long time. One suggestion: it would be nice if Island Watch would offer band shortening as a service with a printable guideline for wrist measurement. TOUGH JOB to remove links!

I exchanged several emails with Marc asking questions and providing details on the type of watch sought. He recommended the Orient Star Classic over the Standard Date, though the Classic is lower priced. Only an honest businessman would offer such advice. Now, to the watch. Marc's choice for me was perfect. I couldn't ask for a better watch for my style and needs. The Orient Star Classic looks much better in person than in pictures. If you want a nice classic watch, then look no further. If you want an honest deal, buy from Long Island Watch.

Got the watch this week. A few observations: overall I am very pleased with the build quality and design. The blued steel hands were the selling point for me. Visibility is great, especially when otherwise there may be a bit of glare on the crystal; the contrast between the hands and dial is striking. The finish on the case and bracelet is excellent, with subtle contrast between the brushed and polished finish on the lugs, bezel, and bracelet. I am somewhat less than pleased with the fact that the bracelet links are joined by pins rather than screws; a visit to the watchmaker was necessary to size it (3 links removed to fit my 6.75″ wrist). Also, it arrived needing a bit of regulation — at least +15 sec/day off, but precision between positions is excellent, and it seems to be spot on now after some minor tweaking by my watchmaker. I must say it’s very comfortable on the wrist with the bracelet, but it alternately looks very classic with a strap.

Can't say more than 5 Stars! Love the Orient Star (5 Star?) Uncanny accuracy!!!!! Truly chronometer range.
